At the outbreak of World War I, Lord Kitchener, the Secretary of State for War issued a heartfelt plea to individuals everywhere who were of an age to contribute to the War effort. A clever recruitment poster featuring the face of Lord Kitchener, was designed by the Artist Alfred Leete and pictured Kitchener’s face with him pointing directly outwards as though aimed at every individual who looked at it!
The iconic poster was a big part of a mass campaign in 1914 to encourage men of all ages to volunteer for the British Army, as casualties mounted and the need for more soldiers became more apparent. In the Welsh City of Newport, situated on the River Usk near its confluence with the Severn Estuary, a professional, reputable, well-established Foster Care Newport Agency such as https://saferfostering.org.uk/foster-care-wales/newport are issuing a similar heartfelt plea, “Your City Needs You”, to families living in and around the Newport area. With approximately 134 children in Newport’s care system, there is a growing need to find suitable, loving, flexible, caring individuals, couples and families prepared to take one or more of these children into the safety and comfort of their own homes.
Many of these unfortunate youngsters have witnessed abuse and suffered at the hands of these abusers, facing traumatic experiences often on a daily basis they need support, understanding, time, counselling and the chance to have a better life. With a growing population of around 160,000 many local inhabitants in Nurturing Newport are rallying to the plea.
