Elizabeth, Alexandra, Mary, our Queen for over seventy years.

Queen Elizabeth the second came to the British throne on the sixth of February 1952 at the tender age of only twenty-five years old on the untimely death of her beloved father King George the sixth. Having married Philip Mountbatten in November 1947 she served as Queen with Philip by her side for over seventy years. Their marriage was a strong bond of Love and shared interests and lasted seventy-three years until Philip passed away in 2021.  Their four children, Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward all became serving royals and helped their mother by attending many public events. Queen Elizabeth the second was not only our sovereign but she became head of seven independent commonwealth countries and leader of the commonwealth. As Queen she visited many foreign countries and met many political leaders, her life was extremely busy and to relax and unwind she had her beloved corgis to play with and walk around her vast estates.  Taking some well-deserved private time and relaxing, Queen Elizabeth may well have enjoyed some arts and crafts, maybe using Crochet Blanket Kits from a professional company specialising in Wool Couture?

Queen Elizabeth enjoyed her coronation in 1953 and lived to celebrate four Jubilees, including her Silver in 1977, Golden in 2002, Diamond in 2012 and Platinum in 2022. The year 1997 was probably one of the most difficult in her reign, when her former daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales Lady Diana, was killed in a terrible car crash whilst trying to avoid the press. Incredibly, even after a reporting backlash from the press Queen Elizabeth remained strong and conducted herself with dignity and composure. The monarchy, led by the Queen, has remained steadfast and served the people of Britain as well as all the other countries under their reign with fairness and consistency.

The death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2^nd on the 8^th of September 2022 came as a shock for thousands of ordinary people because only two days previously she had been filmed welcoming her new Prime Minister Liz Truss into office and had seemed as sprightly as ever. Prince Charles, her eldest son, aged 73 has now taken on all the responsibilities of his deceased mother and became King Charles the 3^rd on the 8^th of September 2022.
