Loss of self-esteem and depression are in close connection. The depression is one of the most common psychological disorders and known.

The loss of self-esteem causes depression and affects a lot in a person’s life, limiting social relationships and expressing their own potentialities.

The more you lower your self-esteem and the greater the risk of depression.

The person, who has lost self-esteem, feels constantly useless and inadequate and is often fought by guilty feelings of guilt.

Depression can creep into a person’s life, every time a negative event adds a dysfunctional thinking mechanism, creating deceptive beliefs such as …

  • “I knew I was worth nothing”
  • “Everything goes wrong as usual”
  • “I’m a horrible person”
  • “Nobody likes me”
  • “I do not get anything good from me”

They are the beliefs and negative beliefs about ourselves that lead to depression.

Those who are depressed, think very negatively, lose the joy of living, and have a low mood. It ingents the events, even trivial, and believes that any mistake is a proof of its inadequacy.

It also loses optimism and confidence in itself, in others, and in the future.

This is why it no longer has a design and does not set goals for life …

It has an unrealistic sense of responsibility for situations and attributes the blame of every occurrence.

Those who are depressed have a low level of self-esteem that has lost the interest and pleasure of everything.

It proves disgusting for himself and his life can become very difficult.

How does loss of self-esteem associate with depression?

One of the latest studies conducted by the Department of Psychology at the University of Basel has shown how it is more likely to become depressed when you have poor self-esteem.

Those who have little opinion of themselves lose sight of their ability to cope with life events.

Formula negative thoughts and often perceives their existence as painful and meaningless.

Mood drops drastically and can no longer prove interest and pleasure in activities that previously interested them and gratified them.

They feels apathetic, irritable and tired.

Faced with this symptomatic framework, it is clear that self-esteem is linked to the basic beliefs we have about ourselves.

In a sense, the thoughts we formulate in our minds determine the confidence we have in our abilities.

In general, depression is caused by loss of self-esteem because of excessive self-critique, which induces depressed mood and vicious mechanisms of thought.

People who have lost self-esteem tend to focus on more negative thoughts than those who maintain a good self-esteem, with greater chances of developing a depressed mood.

How to cure loss of self-esteem to reduce the development of depressive symptoms.

Working on self-esteem to prevent or treat depression means cognitive restructuring and rediscovering your ability to act.

It is vital to resume the power of oneself and to learn to identify their life goals.

Increasing social skills is also crucial to getting out of depression. Those who have lost self-esteem usually have insufficient social skills.
